Flowers like Grandma used to grow.
Our story
We are Kim and Sarah, the mother-daughter farm team that is Scott Twp Flower Farm. We have always enjoyed gardening and flowers. During the spring of 2020 Sarah came home to finish her senior year of college under the mass quarantine. The two of us had a lot of time on our hands so we walked and talked and planned and gardened. In the summer of 2020 our local farmers’ market was able to open so we visited every week and dreamed of some day being flower sellers.
In the spring of 2021, Scott Twp Flower Farm was born. We were (and still are) quite small, but we developed a local following of customers that has allowed us to grow. Over time many started to ask if we allowed people to come out to the farm. Little did folks know that that was a second dream of ours—to open a cutting garden—and these customers confirmed our dream. During the summers of 2022 and 2023 we laid out new beds, built fence, and prepared to open the garden to the public.
Stay tuned! In 2024 the plans are to swing wide the garden gates to let you meander our paths and cut the flowers that spark joy in your heart.
Grown with care
When we began our farm journey, we never realized the amount of education that would come with it. Hours of reading farm publications, listening to farming podcasts, and visiting other farms taught us that ‘farming’ flowers is much different than growing a row on the end of the veggie patch.
As a result of our personal education efforts, we have learned which plants prefer the cool of the fall and spring, which ones can be overwintered in order to have strong stems at bloom time, and the ones that need all the heat summer can bring. We are able to harvest each variety of flower to ensure the longest vase life for your bouquet.
We appreciate the trust our customers place in us when they purchase our flowers.
